Orcadia Creative Learning Centre Edinburgh

It is true to state Orcadia CLC is recognised in the wider community as being somewhat unique in the services and opportunities it provides in person centred education by nurturing the personal development potential of all our students through participation in Communication Arts Programmes.

Our philosophy, focus, management and approach is instantly recognisable by our work ethics as a student led centre, promoting teaching and encouraging self esteem and confidence to enable greater social inclusion through better understanding and peer support.

To a great extent our success is attributable to our high staff-student ratio of
1 – 3 with our dedicated, caring and enthusiastic staff and volunteers ensuring that every one of our students experience our undivided attention for all during the whole time they are with us.

The centre is registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) with all staff, volunteers and work experience students having enhanced disclosures.

Orcadia is located in the vibrant seaside town of Portobello, Edinburgh. It is a single story building with a trampoline room, a centrally located café providing light refreshments,

We currently have a small Board made up of volunteers and one person who works part time in Education & Administration.

The Board hold monthly meetings to discuss Orcadia’s progress and how Orcadia can be enhanced

Orcadia is a non profit making organisation. All money we make goes directly to the benefit of our users. as such we rely heavily on fundraising activities and donations. We wouuld like to thank our funders & all those who have supported us, Without this support we would not be able to provide this unique and very worthwhile service.
